Summary

Credit Union National Association is excited to announce an opening for an Administrative Assistant, Advocacy. This role is central to the Political Affairs and Regulatory teams at CUNA. This person provides administrative support and is responsible for keeping these teams running smoothly and ensuring the staff are kept informed of and involved in pertinent issues.


This position will be considered a hybrid with a blend of remote and in-office at CUNA’s Washington, D.C office.


Responsibilities:

  • Support CULAC Accounting and Program staff by coordinating materials and taking minutes at CULAC Exec Committee and CULAC Board of Trustees meetings and calls.
  • Responsible for the weekly preparation of PAC check deposits and the transmittal of disbursements.
  • Assist the Chief Political Officer and Deputy Chief Advocacy Officer in maintaining their calendars and scheduling meetings.
  • Assist with making travel arrangements and complete and process expense reports.
  • Arrange, participate in, and implement weekly team meetings and monthly committee meetings.
  • Take meeting minutes and distributes in a timely manner.
  • Support and coordinate logistics for GAC (CUNA’s Governmental Affairs Conference), working in collaboration with Marketing, Political Affairs, and the Advocacy Administrative Manager, ensuring all meetings run smoothly.
  • Coordinate conference planning and booth logistics.
  • Assist with organizing annual GAPS dinner.
  • Prepare materials and assist with arrangements for other GAC-related events.
  • Interface with League GAPS, League presidents, Credit Union CEOs, and other senior-level executive staff, providing support as needed.
  • Assist with other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or relevant experience in lieu of education.
  • 4 + years of experience in general administrative support.
  • Experience in Advocacy or Financial services is a plus but not required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Experience formatting and preparing documents for presentation.
  • Must be a team player, who can also work independently.
  • Must exercise discretion while handling sensitive matters.
  • Ability to multitask, handle multiple projects concurrently, and remain highly productive.
  • Must be able to prioritize and take initiative.
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills are required.
