The QTI Group has partnered with a mortgage company in Madison to hire a Collateral Manager to provide support and direction to the employees of the Collateral department, including the support staff. This role will monitor the inbound closing packages and direct the team to focus on the processing and shipment of the Collateral in line with the warehouse bank expectations. Will ensure that the loans processed for MERS and non MERS members are processed accordingly. Will lead an integral team, meet with each assigned employee monthly and annually to address performance and opportunities for improvement, provide reporting for the group, on an individual basis, and to management on a monthly basis. This role will be required to work 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM and will have some occasional overtime depending on business need.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides guidance to all assigned employees in regards to daily performance and needs of the team
  • Assists with identifying areas of improvement and establishing a path to meet deficiencies. Provides a monthly update on the employees performance in regards to production, quality, exceptions, attendance, etc
  • Oversees the hiring, promotion and disciplinary actions for all Collateral, MERS and support staff, to include conflict resolution with a focus on team cohesion
  • Communicates all directives to the team in regards to updates and/or changes
  • Ensures that all parties are aware of the change and the impact that the change has on the daily performance of the team
  • Manages and oversees all policy and procedures for Collateral and MERS processes
  • Leads proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalency degree
  • 3+ years of mortgage experience or 5+ years of office experience
  • Demonstrated leadership or management experience
  • Demonstrated experience with analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, and making solid business decisions
  • Demonstrated experience producing accurate and detailed work on multiple projects under time pressure
  • Demonstrated experience communicating with all levels of management
  • Demonstrated experience leading by example to foster relationships within the company and department
  • Demonstrated experience effectively managing relationships with internal and external partners
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Demonstrated experience with MS Office software products
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of mortgage lending practices, mortgage closing packages, warehouse bank requirements and resolution of exceptions.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding with evaluating employee performance, providing guidance in regards to areas requiring improvement and issuance of disciplinary action if failure to meet expectations set forth by company, department or team.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding in team building and/or developing a cohesive team.
