Credit Union National Association is excited to announce an opening for a Senior Manager, Organizational Change Management. This integral role to the Strategy and Project Delivery team is responsible for developing, managing, and continuously improving CUNA’s disciplined approach to managing change. This role provides validation for CUNA’s OCM methodology by creating repeatable, predictable processes supported with tools, templates, and metrics while coaching, mentoring, and educating people leaders on how to effectively employ CUNA’s change management methods. This individual will collaborate across CUNA functions, at all levels in the organization, and will involve close strategic partnership with Human Resources, Internal Communications, and DEI.


Lead and execute functional and portfolio change initiatives:

  • Develop and implement change management strategies and tactics on large portfolio initiatives as well as functional initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to effectively deliver change strategies and tactics.
  • Consult with business stakeholders to design change management approaches appropriately scaled to the effort that support business goal attainment.
  • Deliver solutions that enable people leaders to effectively lead staff through organizational change.
  • Develop and execute training and communication plans.
  • Support the enterprise by assessing cumulative change impact and advising cross-functional leaders in minimizing disruption.
  • Conduct change impact and risk assessments through various input channels.
  • Identify potential points of change resistance; create and implement plans to manage.
  • Forge strong relationships with human resources, internal communications, and DEI teams to ensure change initiatives support CUNA’s core values.
  • Partner with human resources to provide change strategies and tactics around organization design.
  • Develop a deep knowledge of CUNA’s value proposition, its strategy, culture, and business units; understand cross-functional dependencies.
  • Understand CUNA’s role and positioning in the credit union movement, especially relative to other external stakeholders such as leagues and credit unions.

Own enterprise OCM process:

  • Create an OCM toolkit, including methods, tools, and templates, that can support delivery consistency yet can be scaled to meet the needs of various change initiatives.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement for CUNA’s OCM approach.
  • Establish and monitor metrics and measures to gauge the effectiveness of change activities.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to build OCM capabilities across the organization.

Manage contingent OCM resources:

  • Develop and implement resource plans for portfolio and functional initiatives.
  • Source and select contingent workers from consulting partner organizations.
  • On-board, manage, and off-board contingent resources.


  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, interpersonal/organizational communications, or relevant experience in lieu of education.
  • 10+ years leading change initiatives on increasingly complex projects.
  • 5+ years developing and implementing OCM practice at the enterprise level.
  • 5+ years directly or indirectly managing people.
  • Deep understanding of OCM strategy, execution, and success measurement.
  • Understanding of how to develop and scale methodology, tools, and templates.
  • Keen ability to influence without direct authority at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to direct others’ work while clearly communicating expectations and monitoring results.
  • Expertise in consultative support of internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and effectively manage ambiguity.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to navigate a matrix organization.
  • Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and MS office skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to effectively facilitate.
  • Knowledge of the credit union movement is preferred.
