The QTI Group is recruiting for a Senior Tax Accountant for a dynamic and stable collection of entities who activities include real estate investing and management, stock market investing, a charitable foundation and various family related activities. This role provides day-to-day financial, tax and general support to the companies properties and the high net worth owners of the company, foundation and affiliated entities of the principals and their related family affairs in a highly confidential and trusted manner. The tasks of the position are performed as part of the accounting team and include partnership and fund accounting, financial reporting, cash management, bill payment, tax return compilations and advising on complex inter-generational wealth strategies.


  • Accounting: accounts payable; accounts receivable; monthly reconciliations; banking; preparing monthly financial statements; upkeep and/or preparation of the entity’s investor capital balance schedule for both tax and book purposes; track and maintain cost/basis for investments; prepare the entity’s capitalization policy on an annual basis; monitor bank and brokerage accounts.
  • Tax & Compliance: manage all tax and compliance matters and prepare tax returns in coordination with the public accounting firm; serve as the primary contact and caretaker of various documentation related to the tax returns, preparation and filing of IRS Forms 1096 and 1099-MISC, entity annual reports, and personal property tax returns.
  • Management of the financial affairs of a Non-Profit charitable foundation and guide their financial planning and analysis.
  • Other Responsibilities: prepare compliance documents with governmental entities; consult and respond to various inquiries related to the entities in a timely manner; prepare ad-hoc analysis at the direction of the principals; perform related administrative duties; other duties as may be assigned from time to time.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 8+ years accounting experience (3+ years in public accounting is preferred)
  • Prior experience in family office setting not required but preferred
  • Knowledge of non-profit accounting and tax a plus
  • CPA license preferred
  • High attention to detail, problem solver and intellectually curious
  • Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality
  • Highly organized and self-motivated
  • Knowledge and application of GAAP
  • Knowledge of tax issues and compliance of entities and individuals
  • Experience with real estate entities
  • Working knowledge of complex brokerage statements, IRA statements, investment funds and related reporting/booking of activity thereof
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Yardi and QuickBooks.
