Summary:

The QTI Group
has partnered with a diversified communications company and it's subsidiaries to help with their efforts in recruiting Systems Engineers. The Engineer - Systems & Storage is responsible for on-site installation, maintenance and repair of company and multi-vendor systems which include hardware, software, and operating systems. This position ensures customer satisfaction by advising on preventive maintenance and configurations which may impact product performance. The Engineer - Systems & Storage is also responsible for maintaining/increasing knowledge of technologies within specific functional areas, maintaining required certifications, and acting as a “trusted advisor” among our customers on technical matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical planning, implementation, configuration, support and troubleshooting services on one or more of product lines or service groups we sponsor.
  • Analyze complex systems problems and implement solutions. Seek and recommend alternative processes to improve service delivery to the customer in a cost effective way.
  • Configure, install, and maintain software and hardware. Troubleshoot equipment such as servers, storage, and virtualization technologies.
  • Create documentation for both internal use and customer deliverables. Produce complete system requirements and/or specifications as appropriate.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in technology (i.e. attend conferences or training, complete vendor provided trainings, review/study technical journals)

Qualifications:

ENGINEER II – SYSTEMS & STORAGE
  • Associates degree or higher -OR- 2+years professional work experience.
  • 2+ years experience with at least one Server Operating Systems (Windows, Linux, VMware); experience must include server hardware AND administering or implementing systems infrastructure (Servers, Virtualization, Storage, AD, Exchange, SQL, etc.).
  • Availability to consult, assist and/or perform after-hours support and participate in on-call rotations.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and insurance.
ENGINEER III – SYSTEMS & STORAGE
  • Bachelor degree or higher -OR- 4+years professional work experience.
  • 5+ years experience with at least one Server Operating Systems (Windows, Linux, VMware); experience must include server hardware AND administering or implementing systems infrastructure (Servers, Virtualization, Storage, AD, Exchange, SQL, etc.).
  • Availability to consult, assist and/or perform after-hours support and participate in on-call rotations.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and insurance.
Other Qualifications:
  • Experience in MS Azure, MS SCCM and O365, including migrations and greenfield deployments preferred.
  • Experience in VDI, specifically Citrix, preferred.
  • Industry standard certifications a plus (MCSE, MCITP, RHCE, ASE, VCP, etc.).
  • Experience with storage (HPE, Dell/EMC), hardware / blades and Hyper-Convergence (Cisco, HPE, Dell/EMC) a plus.
