Summary

Credit Union National Association is excited to announce an opening for a UX Designer to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders on everything from UX research to creating prototypes for usability tests then on to high-fidelity visual compositions. You are a total UX nerd who thrives using the following methods: user interviews, surveys, useability tests, design studios, and ideation sessions. This role requires a self-starter that takes initiative and can move projects forward. This role can work out of the corporate headquarters in Madison, WI, or be located in Washington, D.C., and may consider remote options.

Responsibilities

  • With a user-centric approach, the UX Designer will utilize multiple UX research methods to identify key user needs and goals, create and oversee usability testing of CUNA’s digital properties to create modern UX solutions
  • Coordinate, conduct, and moderate UX research initiatives including business stakeholder and customer interviews
  • Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to development
  • Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user-friendliness to complex processes through the creation of low- and medium-fidelity prototypes to be used to conduct usability testing
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including digital, design, and IT to solve problems and innovate CUNA’s digital platform to develop and maintain UX standards and best practices
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in user experience design, human-centered interaction, computer science, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a UX-based environment, including:
    • Development of interactive responsive designs for websites and web/mobile applications via low-fidelity wireframes and high-fidelity visual compositions
    • Experience with user research methodologies including stakeholder interviews, surveys, user flows, process flows, journey maps, personas, and site maps
  • Passion for identifying and solving real consumer and business problems
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Invision, and other design tools
  • Strong professional skills in communication, collaboration, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization and serve as a UX subject matter expert
  • Excellent project management skills including the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Outstanding presentation and oral and written communications skills
  • Comfort and willingness to work with colleagues in a variety of geographic locations
  • Must be able to demonstrate previous work in an online portfolio
