Summary:
This is a full time DIRECT HIRE career opportunity with a family-owned shop in Green Lake County. As a 1st Shift Manual Machinist, will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machines, including lathes, mills, surface grinders, and presses.
- Hours: Monday-Friday, 6am-2pm
- Pay: $20-$22 per hour

Responsibilities:
- Operate machinery, including lathes, mills, surface grinders, and presses, to manufacture and repair mechanical assemblies.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables or study sample parts to determine machining operations to be performed.
- Adjust and set up machines to the required settings, monitoring them for signs of necessary maintenance or adjustments.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances, measure and lay out workpieces.
- Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials for each task.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machining is preferred.
- Proven experience as a machinist with proficiency in operating lathes, mills, surface grinders, and presses.
- Strong understanding of metal properties and other material characteristics.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, diagrams, and drawings.
- Advanced mathematical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy equipment and workpieces.
