Summary:
The QTI Group has partnered with a well-established plastic fabrication company to hire a Purchasing Specialist for a direct hire opportunity. This role is critical to supporting procurement functions, managing inventory, and driving process improvements within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have purchasing experience in a manufacturing setting and a solid understanding of ERP systems (Sage 100 preferred). This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their day-to-day work and is excited to play a key role in building and improving department processes.

This is a full-time role with a flexible start time between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM, Monday through Friday. The standard schedule consists of four 9-hour days and a 4-hour Friday. Occasional overtime, especially during the initial onboarding and departmental clean-up phase, is expected.

Compensation starts at $67k/yr., based on experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage purchasing activities, including order placement, supplier management, and cost analysis.
  • Monitor and replenish raw materials and finished goods.
  • Track orders and maintain vendor records using ERP software.
  • Support the implementation of the Sage Operations Management module.
  • Conduct cycle counts and process replenishment orders.
  • Receive and log incoming products and coordinate material movement.
  • Develop and maintain inventory systems, including reorder points and Kanban ordering.
  • Identify cost savings and negotiate with vendors.
  • Provide occasional administrative support, including answering phones and greeting visitors.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required.
  • 2+ years of purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management, MRP, and ERP systems (Sage 100 a plus).
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with computers and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
