Summary:
The QTI Group is seeking a skilled Journeyman Tool & Die Maker on either 2nd or 3rd shift. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, repairing, and maintaining tooling using precision equipment such as lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM machines. You’ll play a critical role in supporting production quality and ensuring the satisfaction of both internal and external customers.
Hours:
2nd shift Monday-Friday 2:30pm – 11:00pm
3rd shift Sunday-Thursday 11:00pm – 7:00am
Plus overtime and on call rotation as required
Pay: $24-30/hr depending on experience
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret detailed tool drawings and written work instructions
- Manufacture and repair tools, fixtures, and machine parts
- Operate standard and CNC machine tools including mills, lathes, grinders, EDMs, and saws
- Perform complex setups and operations
- Design and fabricate jigs and fixtures
- Apply math and machining knowledge to make process decisions
- Ensure continuous material flow throughout the Tool & Die process
Qualifications:
- Completion of a certified Tool & Die apprenticeship and 10,400 hours of related experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of post-apprenticeship Tool & Die experience
- Proficient in using precision measuring tools and gauges
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and move up to 80 lbs. with or without accommodation
- Comfortable sitting or standing for long periods
- Experience with Surfcam, Esprit, or SolidWorks preferred
