The QTI Group is seeking a hands-on Lead Machinist to join the 2nd shift team of a local manufacturing company. This is a DIRECT HIRE opportunity offers a great 4-day work week. You’ll lead a team, produce precision parts, and work closely with the Machining Supervisor to meet production goals. Ideal for an experienced machinist ready for more leadership responsibility while promoting safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Schedule

Monday–Thursday
2:30 PM–1:00 AM

Compensation

$28+/hour, depending on experience and skill level
Full benefits available

Responsibilities

Set up and operate machine tools to produce components from blueprints and work plans
Train, mentor, and support machinists for skill and performance growth
Collaborate with the Machining Supervisor to meet production and quality goals
Inspect work to ensure parts meet quality standards
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs
Perform daily machine maintenance and enforce safety policies
Communicate across teams to meet production schedules and customer requirements

Qualifications

High School Diploma required; Technical Degree preferred
5–10 years of machining experience with strong turning and milling skills
Leadership experience or demonstrated progression of responsibility preferred
Proficient with precision measurement tools and blueprint reading
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Comfortable with basic computer systems
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended shifts
