The QTI Group is recruiting for a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager (FSQA Manager) for our client in Hebron, Illinois. An integral part of the leadership team, this person is the Primary SQF Practitioner, HACCP-certified, and a full-time, on-site employee responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) System in accordance with the Food Manufacturing Food Safety Code. This role ensures compliance with HACCP/HARPC principles, regulatory requirements, and internal food safety and quality standards.

This role ensures compliance with HACCP/HARPC principles, regulatory requirements, and internal food safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the SQF System, including food safety fundamentals and food safety plans.
- Ensure all SQF-related procedures and records are accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable standards.
- Conduct regular reviews of Critical Control Points (CCP) and Preventive Controls (PC) monitoring and verification records.
- Communicate essential SQF and food safety information to relevant personnel to ensure effective system implementation.
- Develop and deliver training programs related to SQF, HACCP/HARPC, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform regular internal audits, monthly inspections, and mock recalls to verify traceability, labeling, and product identification systems.
- Review daily production and sanitation records for accuracy and completeness; initiate corrective actions as needed.
- Conduct HACCP team meetings and reviews as necessary.
- Monitor and evaluate food safety records daily, weekly, or as appropriate to ensure compliance.
- Assist in the investigation and resolution of customer complaints, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Conduct environmental monitoring activities such as ATP testing and coordinate lab testing (e.g., APC, Listeria, water activity, pH).
- Stay informed of changes in local, state, and federal food safety laws and regulations and communicate updates to management.
- Collaborate with food safety consultants as needed to support system integrity and compliance.
Qualifications:
- HACCP Certification required.
- In-depth knowledge of SQF, HACCP, and HARPC principles.
- Experience in food manufacturing and regulatory compliance.
- Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to lead audits, training, and cross-functional food safety initiatives.
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
