Summary:
Full‑time Industrial Operations Manager role within the industrial electric motor repair industry, overseeing day‑to‑day shop operations in a high‑volume repair environment. Position is based in Milwaukee, WI and requires onsite leadership during typical shop hours 7:00am–3:30pm, with occasional weekend work tied to customer emergencies. Compensation starts around $80K+ with uncapped bonus potential once fully transitioned into the role.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations of the electric motor repair department, ensuring efficient workflow from intake to completion.
  • Assign, prioritize, and track repair jobs, maintaining schedules, due dates, and accountability across the team.
  • Coordinate closely with technicians, machine shop leadership, service advisors, and support departments.
  • Provide technical guidance on AC/DC motors, generators, pumps, gearboxes, and rotating equipment.
  • Support complex repairs, testing procedures, quality checks, and adherence to internal and industry standards.
  • Ensure accurate quoting, pricing, and timely billing of repair jobs of all sizes.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor technicians, leads, and support staff to build strong technical and leadership capabilities.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant shop environment, enforcing all safety policies and certifications.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, throughput, communication, and customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate repair status, recommendations, and findings to customers in a clear, professional manner.
  • Work with vendors on parts sourcing, lead times, and supply issues.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in electric motor repair, rotating equipment, or industrial mechanical/electrical service.
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC motor construction, testing, failure analysis, and repair processes.
  • Familiarity with large‑motor repair environments highly preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience in a shop, repair, or industrial operations environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational discipline.
  • Excellent communication and customer‑facing skills, including technical discussions and repair recommendations.
  • Ability to lead a diverse team of technicians, service advisors, and shop personnel.
  • Commitment to maintaining safety standards, quality processes, and documentation accuracy.
