Job Description

The QTI Group is partnering with an employee-owned manufacturer to hire a Quality Manager to lead and manage the company’s quality program. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving continuous improvement, maintaining ISO 9001 compliance, and fostering a culture of quality throughout the organization.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop a QA/QC team of six, including inspectors, a quality engineer, and quality systems support.
  • Manage the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, including audits, document control, and recertification activities.
  • Serve as the primary quality contact for customers, reviewing requirements, drawings, and specifications, and managing complaints, nonconformances, and corrective actions.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives, tracking trends and implementing systemic improvements.
  • Oversee supplier quality performance, partnering with Purchasing and Operations to resolve supplier-related issues.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to establish and maintain process controls, inspection plans, and acceptance criteria.
  • Support new product introductions and process changes with risk assessments and documentation updates.
  • Analyze quality metrics and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve process stability.
  • Drive accountability for quality standards across the organization and provide training to employees on ISO and quality practices.
  • Maintain visible, hands-on leadership on the manufacturing floor, building trust and engagement with employees.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, or related field, or equivalent experience is required.
  • 5+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment; contract manufacturing preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience, including supervising and developing quality teams.
  • Hands-on experience managing ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, including audits, corrective actions, and document control.
  • Strong understanding of process control, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across functions and with customers.
  • Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing or ISO Lead Auditor certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with quality and production systems.
